Ambition by Bianca - January 2018 Scholarship Essay
The one word that describes why I wish to attend college is because of ambition. As I entered my teenage years I suffered from a lot of acne. It was very frustrating going to the store buying over the counter products and finding out that nothing seemed to help. My mother then made me an appointment with a dermatologist and they had me try several different prescribed products.
My doctor was friendly and really made sure that I understood how to care for my skin. They taught me how poor nutrition also affects the skin. I learned to eat healthier and what foods aggravated my skin so I could avoid them. It took some time, but I was finally able to take control of my acne.
That time was very difficult for me because kids would tease me and say hurtful things. I promised myself back then that I was going to learn everything that I could about skin care and share my knowledge with others.
This has resulted in me staying laser focused on my school work so I can achieve my goal of finishing high school with a high GPA. I wanted colleges to see that I am devoted and that I take school very seriously. I felt this would allow me to get accepted into a great college and set me onto my path of accomplishing my goal of becoming a doctor.
My ambition will continue to run strong and help me achieve my goal of graduating at the top of my class as a doctor.
