My Impact on My School by bailee - November 2019 Scholarship Essay
One way I have positively impacted my school and the student body is caring for others outside of my normal friend group. The most positive thing anyone can do is care for someone other than themselves.
First of all, throughout school I have always been considered one of the students who is friends with mostly everyone, “popular” you could say. Although being mostly in athletics, I considered myself close to many people outside of sports, the marching band, the choir, the dance team, key club. I have always had a really big heart and care about what everyone else is going through, so I push myself outside of my comfort zone, to make everyone feel needed. To make people feel needed, I do things like, ask for homework help when I really don't need it, or drive someone home and talk about their life. The best way I have impacted my school is by being the friend everyone needs.
Positively impacting my school meant caring for people that I had never met before nor had anything in common with. High School is hard, it's even harder when you feel like no one is there. So I make sure the people that I see walking in the hallway feel good about themselves, and I make sure they are having a good day. My positive impact on my school has shown the younger classmen that it is okay to be caring. I hope people see me trying to make people feel needed, so they could look for similar opportunities to make someone else feel wanted.
I believe through my nature of caring for others, I have left a positive impact on my school, and the student body. Caring for one another is a trickle down effect, the more people who care for one another, the less people feel alone. Caring has left a positive impact on me and my school.
