Stay-at-home Mother by Ashlynn - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

In ten years I hope to be a stay at home mom. My education will help me be a stay at home mother as I will have been able to receive a better job with a college education. In result I will be able to save money to assist me in the future. Without an education I would need to work in the first years of marriage so that my husband and I would be able to support a small family. I will also be able to be a better mother with education on my side. This is so as I will be able to have more patience and better endurance, gained from being in school. I hope I will be able to then better assist my children in their pursuits and set an example to them that education is important. As I hope to see my children graduate from high school and college, I must first do so, so they have someone to look up to. I know that as I continue my education past high school, I will not only gain better habits and knowledge, but will be a far better person. Being a stay at home mother is often looked down upon, but as my mother graduated from college in elementary education I have seen the profound impact it has had in my life. She has been able to assist me in my schooling and been able to teach me new things daily. Education will be the foundation to my entire life, not only in ten years but in fifty.
