Looking back at my past life there are a few pieces of advice I would have given myself to help me. I feel the most important advice that I could have passed down to myself is “nothing easy is worth having”. There have been obstacles I have overcome throughout my younger life, and I feel this would have really helped me out.

At a young age I watched my father take the easy way out of things and it destroyed our family in numerous ways. He would basically rob Peter to pay Paul, and not taking the time to put the effort in to make an honest living. This led our family to extreme hardships and struggles throughout my childhood. Looking back at this I have learned that hard work and determination relates to friendships, family, and career.

Since I was young during that time, I was able to learn now that dedication and hard work will always pay off. I watched my mother take myself and my siblings away from this with nothing and work hard to make ends meet. Now, I look back and see all the struggles made to get where we are today, and I want to better my life with a higher education. I know I will have to put a great deal of effort to make my goals in life and I am ready to meet that challenge head on.
