The Evolution of Bioengineering by Ariaunna - February 2018 Scholarship Essay

One helpful technological advancement we have is in the medical field. Everyday, scientists and other people who are considered part of the medical field, are constantly searching for ways to assist anyone and everyone with illnesses, diseases, and disabilities. Bioengineered body parts were designed as a replacement for people missing limbs, organs and more!

It amazing how we as a race of human beings have had the opportunity to create artificial blood vessels, organs, even parts of faces. Learning more about these convenient inventions will enlighten people on how far we’ve evolved mentally. It will also show people that there is nothing to be afraid of.

A lot people are skeptical about science and what scientists do for us. The more we begin to understand and learn about medical technology such as bioengineering, more people will fund for others to obtain it easier and at a less expensive cost.

Learning about bioengineered replacements is important to me because my mother is an amputee. It’s been decades since my mother has been able to wear open toed and high heeled shoes. It’s saddening to have to try to adjust to an inconvenience due to an accident long ago. Many people have to adapt because they do not have what they need due to cost. Not a lot of people are in the field to create bioengineered parts. Having a limited amount of people in the bioengineering field is a factor to the cost.

Donating to a cause like this will benefit thousands or millions of people’s lives. By the year of 2038, everyone should know how helpful bioengineered replacements are. There’s a higher chance of people working in the medical field to create it.
