Religious Education by Anthony - December 2019 Scholarship Essay

Ever since I was in 6th grade I've been apart of a Religous Education program put on by my elementary school. In the program, we discussed many different ways of how you can prepare yourself to be the best adult you can be. For example, we examined how choosing the right friends can be a major factor in your life. We also went over how it is very important to keep a strong faith with Christ, and how you can develop yourself into the image and likeness of Christ.

The first thing we went over was choosing the right friends. Choosing the right friends is a very important factor that can affect your life. For example, choosing the wrong group of friends can lead you to do things you wouldn't usually do without those people. Such as partying, some friends could pressure you into doing things you wouldn't do which could lead you into trouble.

The next thing we went over was keeping a strong connection with Christ. During the program, we took multiple field trips to different church events that allowed us to interact with other people involved with Religous Education programs. We were able to talk with those other students about how important it is to keep faith with Christ.

Finally, this program helped me become the best person I could be. I was able to evaluate myself at the time and make changes to what I was doing and make better decisions. I made new friends that care about me and want me to succeed. I also started to go to mass more and started having a stronger connection with Christ. The program, in general, made me a better person and made me look at the world in a better way.
