FIVEever by Anna - June 2021 Scholarship Essay
"Who's this guy, another substitute?" were the first words that came to my head whenever my soon to be AP Human Geography teacher came in the classroom. Little did I know, he would leave a significant impact on me.
My history teacher is the most influential teacher I've ever had. History can be broken down into different categories but for this particular case, he was my AP Human Geography teacher for ninth grade and my World History teacher for tenth grade. You could say I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. I really couldn't. He always gave me motivational speeches that I found supportive. He saw my potential and believed in me. Even with the online barrier because of the pandemic, he knew that I could do it, and I did. I excelled in his class but part of the reason why I've always excelled in his class, even if it was a college level class, was because he gave me the push. He always had a drive to inspire and lead me into doing my best. My teacher even had the ability to instill genuine interests in the topics he taught. It's the reason why his class was my absolute favorite. I genuinely enjoyed every session throughout the school year.
A good teacher explains the objective, but a great teacher can change a life. This sums up my experience with the most influential teacher I've ever had. He continues to inspire me and as I move forward, I will always remember him forever, no, make it FIVEever because that's longer than forever.
