Success in College by Anna - February 2021 Scholarship Essay

What does success in college mean? It could mean many different things to different people. Success is trying your best. It's always striving to be the best version of yourself. Everyday challenges are always being thrown our way, and overcoming them is a success. To me, it means always trying my best at everything I do. I may not always get the perfect 100, but as long as I tried my absolute hardest, I'm successful in my eyes.
Everyone has different meanings for success. Life is not easy but being the best version of yourself is a success. In college, success to me means being able to get my degree. It means learning to come out of my shell. In college, I will determine if it's a success if I can make more friends, get good grades, and never become someone I'm not. I've always strived to try my best at everything I do especially when I'm passionate about it. That, to me, is success. I haven’t ever been given the easy path in life, but overcoming the things that tried to stop me from being successful is the best thing I could ask for.
When I was little, I dreamed of going to college, but I never imagined the time would come so soon. There were moments that I wanted to give up but chose to keep going to achieve something I’ve always wanted. That is success. It is overcoming the things dragging you down or begging for you to stop. All the late nights of studying trying, so hard to pass, finally paid off. Success in college means getting into the one of your dreams. Being able to travel abroad and help third-world countries. Success is trying everything in your power to not give up.
