The aspect of education that I’m most thankful for are all the opportunities my school gives through CE(Concurrent Enrollment) and AP(Advanced Placement) courses. All throughout my 4 years of high school, I have been able to take many AP and CE courses and especially this year I have filled my schedule with all types of these courses. I am grateful for AP and CE courses because they help me get ahead, they save time, and they save money.
I am especially thankful for these college courses because they give me a “head start” on my future education and success. I am able to earn and receive credits towards degrees that I will later get in college. Starting right now and all throughout my 4 years in high school I have been able to learn so much and be able to work towards my Associates degree by passing these college tests and earning the credits necessary.
Taking and passing these AP and CE classes in high school has also saved me so much time. Instead of taking another whole semester or year in college on a class to get credit, I can take it in high school and receive credit for graduation and for college simultaneously. Adding up all the college courses I’ve taken so far and am going to take in high school makes it so I will only have 18 more credit hours left to complete for my Associates degree! If I work hard and pass all of my AP and CE courses this year, then I will have 42 hours already done towards my associates! That is a ton of time saved! My life is very busy, so this is something I am very thankful for.
Getting an education can be expensive! And going to college can be even more expensive! Having and saving money is critical for an education. Taking AP and CE courses save thousands of dollars that I can instead use for another part of my future education. I will have saved about $9,000 for college with all the college courses I have taken! This is a huge blessing and the scholarships the school offers are extremely helpful too. They give you lots of opportunities to earn money towards college and be able to avoid student debt.
All these opportunities my school and colleges give to high schoolers are amazing and I am so grateful that I can take these courses and take charge of my future. Saving money, time, and getting ahead on my education are all things that AP and CE courses open up and help me with. This aspect of my education is extremely useful and makes a huge impact on my future.
