Yearbook Quotes of Encouragement by Amanda - November 2018 Scholarship Essay
Senior yearbook quotes are sometimes funny and at other times meaningful, but they give a hint into the character of the student who wrote them. The yearbook quote which best describes me is, “With the help of many, I’ll continue to rise, but never too high to lend a hand up.”
When I look back on my journey from freshman to senior, the canvas of my mind fills with the faces of people who invested in me. There were upper classmen who took me under their wings and showed me how to navigate the high school building, warned me of difficult instructors, and welcomed me into their world. There were teachers who mentored me so that I could assist them in instruction. They provided an opportunity for me to take a leadership role in the classroom; this was a preview into my current career path. Most importantly, my parents were always there to encourage and to guide me.
At each pivotal moment, there has always been someone to advise me of the best way to climb the ladder of life. Their willingness to share time and care has made all the difference in my journey. I am truly grateful for the wisdom shared with me. It is my goal to be available to others in the same way. My yearbook quote is there to let others know that they don’t have to feel disconnected and without resources. It is my privilege to give back to others, the way help was given to me.
