Determination by Amanda - January 2018 Scholarship Essay

One word to describe why I would like to attend college would be determination. My hard working skills are always put to use, no matter what I am doing. I am extremely diligent in the work I do at school, which is why I have an outstanding GPA of 3.95. My hard work comes with determination to succeed in all aspects of life.

One of my strong personality characteristics is that I am always determined to reach the goals that I set for myself. An example of my goal setting is at work, Animal Crackers, where I am determined to do the best job of my ability to ensure that the customers are happy, along with my coworkers. Through this goal setting and determination, I was promoted to a Shift Leader, who takes responsibility for all of the workers during that shift, as well as their job performances. Another example of my goal setting is at school, where I always strive to exceed my teachers and my own expectations. My goals and hard work throughout school allowed me to be a part of National Honors Society and receive multiple academic awards.

I plan to use this strong work ethic and determination in my future college courses and career. I know that my goal setting will help to achieve success easily as it has in past experiences. My intense determination will push me to meet and exceed any obligations that are in my near future.
