Knowledge is Power by Allison - November 2016 Scholarship Essay
Benjamin Franklin once said, “an investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. The investment in knowledge is the most significant thing I can ever do in order to have a better understand of my surrounding world and how we have come to this point in time. My curious mind is seeking the power of knowledge for the more I know, the more I understand. I will be most thankful for the college experience of increasing my knowledge, for education grants me the ability to be aware of my surroundings thus allowing me to have the skills to make a difference.
Being able to grasp the understanding of my surrounding, gives me an insight of the current social issues. For example, if I am able to fully understand how North America’s shifted from under Juan De Onate control to Mexico and finally America, grants me the knowledge of current issues that occur across the globe. If I am able to fully understand current issues, the insight will let me be able to act upon it. I will be able to make a difference with the accurate knowledge of both sides of an issue. I am grateful for the ability to go to college, for it gives me an outlet to expand my knowledge.
Being educated will lay the foundations for a successful future. Education opens the window to having a stable income thus allowing me the qualifications to take positions of leadership. Being a leader will allow me to make a difference, for I can share my knowledge with others.
I feel as though the most important aspect of college is that it allows one to expand their knowledge. Knowledge is key to a successful future and grants the ability to make a difference. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity college provides—increase of knowledge.
