I had it easy going into my freshman year of high school, When it came to my first day I felt overly comfortable, I was lucky enough to have my older brother who had already experienced two years of high school. Although i was lucky most students don't have siblings in high schoold4 . So if i had to Give a tour to Incoming freshman, i would give them The following advice:
I would let them know to not take school too seriously, don't allow it to stress you out, as much as it does to me. High school should be fun and You should enjoy the years while you're here, Because from personal experience, I'm already a junior and I can't remember much from my freshman or sophomore year, because I allowed the pressure of school to Take a toll on me. I had never really taken the time to appreciate the fact that I had classes with all of my friends. And that's something that I regret. Although I am happy to have done decently well in both Freshman, and sophomore year, I should have taken the time to actually have a social life.
That doesn’t mean you should allow, you having fun to get in front of your studies though. take time to manage both, and I recommend Getting done with your A-G classes as soon as possible, A personal experience I went through was, i took Earth Science, So know I don't have much free time in my schedule for my senior year. And that's something I regret doing very much.
I also recommend taking as many Ap or Honors classes you think can manage from middle school experience. Knowing now it well It will help you later on when you're applying for college.It will make you stand out. But don't take more than you can handle because you don’t want to make it up in credit recovery, or in summer school.
Which takes me into my last topic for this essay, If you fail a class, retake the class as soon as possible. You don’t want to be in your senior year trying to retake biology. Save yourself the time and hassle. Of doing it last minute. And you don’t want it to be the reason of you not graduating. So retake your Classes that you fail ASAP.
To conclude my essay, I will restate all the points i made, Always Remember to take school seriously, But never forget to have a social life as well. Balance your time for both school and friends. Don’t forget to enjoy your time in high school because it goes by in a flash. Also take many Ap and Honors programs, as well as many as you think you can handle. And my final tip of advice for incoming freshman is to not lack on the classes that you may fail, Don’t wait till the last minute To remake your classes. That concludes my essay.
