I plan to become a physical therapist, which is something that I have wanted to do for a couple years. At the beginning of my junior year in high school, I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I decided to go to the doctor, where I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis. This condition is when the lumbar vertebrae is slipped forward, which causes pain depending on the slippage. My doctor explained to me that I was not allowed to do gymnastics or run, as this could cause further slippage. After the news, I was devastated because they were the two things I loved to do. I was terrified to go, but the physical therapist noticed my anxiety and calmed me down with his friendly personality.
