thankful for my education by Alan - November 2020 Scholarship Essay

My education has given me great opportunities to get an insight in my chosen career. My hometown has a local TSTC that has a dual enrollment plan to allow high school students a chance at starting their careers early.
The college although ill equipped to deal with the students from the High School did give me a good insight as to what i should expect during college in terms of how much help they give you and what you need to setup for success. The experience gave me a broad knowledge of the inner mechanics of the diesel engine including the small functions of every piece their fundamentals and the practicality of it. The correlation between parts is hard to explain with a normal class but thanks to in class engine dismantling and reassembly with the close inspection of each part. An example of the things i learned would include a part like the mechanical fuel pump that is run by gears within the engine to drive it without a computer controlled unit which many civilian truck use.
This was my short college experience that will set me up for success in my 2 chosen career paths of diesel and welding which i hope with this scholarship i will be able to pursue
