My life in 2070 by Ainsley - May 2020 Scholarship Essay

The year is 2070. I have just finished my 11th year of schooling with my hologram teacher that appears every morning in my living room. She has been my teacher since my 9th year and seems pretty nice. She appears at 10:30 am then the class will end at around 1 pm and she will disappear. After class, I typically have an application assignment to do. I will leave and meet with my class group to do labs and other project assignments for the afternoon.
We learned in history that in the past, schools were big buildings filled with hundreds of students and teachers roaming the halls. They would sit in classrooms with 30 kids and write on paper with erasable walls. That is completely different from how it is now. Almost everyone does school from home once they turn 13. The younger kids do schooling in groups with both a hologram teacher and a supervisor to keep them on task. For upper-school work, we typically do projects either out in the communities or some projects at home.
Today I have biology work. I use my synthesis machine to start the process of protein synthesis. The objective for today is to watch the cellular process of translation and transcription. Once I am done an automated message will be sent to my teacher with my results and findings. After biology, I have a math assignment to do with my study group. We meet in the study center and start with our geometry and trigonometry homework. The study center is a building with separate rooms that each contain one large table in the center of the room that can project the hologram we need. We work with hologram shapes and make calculations by writing in the air on the hologram. Our teacher can see all of our markings, so she can grade our work. After we have gone through all of the problems, I am done for the day and can go spend time with my friends.
