Find the mode of the following data set:

\(\displaystyle 16,27,45,27,87,99,127,\)

First, let's put our set in increasing order:

\(\displaystyle 16,27,27,45,87,99,127\)

Next, identify the mode by identifying the number which appears most often.

In this case, we have two 27's, and no other doubles. This means that 27 is our mode.

To find the mode of a data set, we must determine the number within the set that occurs most frequently or most often.  So, looking at the data set

\(\displaystyle 7, 4, 6, 7, 5, 7, 6\)

we can see that the number \(\displaystyle 7\) appears the most (it appears 3 times).

Therefore, the mode of the data set is \(\displaystyle 7\).

To find the mode of a data set, we must find the number that occurs most frequently within the set.  So, in the set

\(\displaystyle 5, 2, 7, 3, 9, 7, 2, 7, 1, 10, 9\)

we can see that the number 7 appears most frequently (3 times).  

Therefore, the mode of the data set is \(\displaystyle 7\).

What is the mode of the following data set?

\(\displaystyle 145,678,902,8902,145,33,34,147,678,902,333,92,145\)

First, put the data set in increasing order:

\(\displaystyle 33,34,92,145,145,145,147,333,678,678,902,902,8902\)

Next, simply look for the value which is most often repeated:

We have three 145's two 678's, and two 902's

The answer must be 145

To find the mode of a data set, we will find the number that appears most frequently. 

So, given the data set

\(\displaystyle 4, 2, 6, 2, 7, 9, 9, 2, 4\)

we can see that the number that appears most frequently is \(\displaystyle 2\).

Therefore, the mode of the data set is \(\displaystyle 2\).

Find the mode of the following data set:

\(\displaystyle 13,45,66,123,43,76,45,13,67,77,45\)

Let's begin by ordering our data set from least to greatest.

\(\displaystyle 13,13,43,45,45,45,66,67,76,77,123\)

Now, the mode is simply the most common number. In this case, it is 45 because we have 3 45's

Find the mode of the following data set:

\(\displaystyle 10,45,65,23,76,87,23,45,12,23,67\)

First, let's reorder our data set:

\(\displaystyle 10,12,23,23,23,45,45,65,67,76,87\)

The mode can be easily identified by looking for the most common number.

In this case, we have 3 23's and 2 45's. So, 23 must be our mode.

The mode is the value that occurs the most.

In this particular case, there are two values that occur more than once.

One occurs four times.

Eleven occurs five times.

Since \(\displaystyle 11\) occurs five times which is more than any other value, it must be the mode.

To find the mode of the data set, we will simply find the number that occurs most often.  So, in the data set

\(\displaystyle 5, 1, 7, 3, 9, 5, 2, 1, 10, 5, 6, 3\)

we can see the number 5 appears most often.  It appears 3 times.  

Therefore, the mode of the data set is \(\displaystyle 5\).
