Possible Answers:

Correct answer:

Explanation:

To find the answer, we will first look at the table.

Table8

We can see the first column displays the different students.  We can see each column after that displays the students' grades in the subjects listed at the top.

Now, we are asked to find who has the lowest grade in Science.  To do that, we will move to the Science column.  We will go down the list and look through until we find the lowest grade.

We can see the lowest grade is C.  Now, we move to the left (while staying in the same row) to find the student that grade belongs to.

We can see it belongs to Lauren.

Therefore, Lauren has received the lowest grade in Science.

Example Question #41 : Data Analysis

Use the table to answer the question.

Table6

Which class has the most students?

Correct answer:

Explanation:

To answer the question, we will look at the table.

Table6

We can see the first column displays the different classes.  The second column displays the number of students in those classes.

To find the class that has the most students, we will look at the second column showing the number of students.  We will go down the column until we find the largest number.  We see that number is 15.

Now, we will move to the left (while staying in the same row) to find which class has that number of students.  We see that it is Math.

Therefore, the class that has the most students is Math.

Example Question #23 : Tables

Use the following table to answer the question.

Table8

Who received the best grade in Math?

Possible Answers:

Correct answer:

Explanation:

To find who had the best grade in Math, let's look at the table.

Table8

We can see the first column lists the names of the students.  The next 3 columns show 3 different subjects (Math, Science, History).  Under each subject, we can see there are grades listed.  Each grade matches up to a student on the left.

So, to find who had the best grade in Math, we will first go to the column that says Math.  We will then go down the column and see what the highest (or best) grade is.  We can see that the highest grade is an A.

Now, we will move from the grade that says A towards the left to see which student it matches up with.  We can see that the A belongs to Jessica.

Therefore, the student who received the highest grade in Math was Jessica.
