I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am an experienced educator with a passion for fostering academic excellence, while also being in tune with learning differences that each student brings to their educational process. I am excited to share my journey with you and hopefully provide a comfortable learning environment for your child. My experiences include: substitute teaching in ELA, history, social studies and special needs in Wake County, NC. I have privately tutored elementary students in reading and ELA and have had success with students whose processing skills are not at the classroom pace. I home schooled all of my children through ninth grade and ran an enrichment based out-of-school time program for elementary and middle school students in Mississippi. This program not only emphasized the importance of personalized learning but also cultivated an environment where students thrived academically. I had the privilege of homeschooling my children from 2nd grade through 9th grade and this experience was both immensely rewarding, while allowing me to tailor their educational content and pace to their unique learning styles. My children have gone on to excel at nationally ranked private high schools and competitive colleges despite their dyslexia. Their success and the success of the students I tutor serves as a testament to the effectiveness of my individual and phonics based teaching style. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in History from Fordham University. My academic background equipped me with a strong foundation in critical thinking, effective communication, and a deep appreciation for the humanities. I am eager to leverage my education and experience to inspire and support students in their academic endeavors. My commitment to education goes beyond simply imparting knowledge; I strive to cultivate a love for learning in each student I work with. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and I am dedicated to providing the guidance and encouragement necessary to help them reach their goals. I look forward to the opportunity to work with motivated candidates who share my vision of empowering students through tailored tutoring and support.
