When someone asks me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I tell them I wanted to be a firetruck, the lime green one to be exact. Once I realized I couldn't be an inanimate object, I dreamt of being teacher. Truthfully, though, I forgot about that dream as I grew older and let life and its opportunities choose a path for me.
I went to college for Political Science and Philosophy. I fell in love with understanding the world after my mom suddenly passed away my junior year of college, so I took myself to Europe, alone, to study South-East European Politics. I found myself teaching English in the hills of Graz, Austria and in the blink of an eye, I was home teaching Civics to youth from all over the country. I blinked again, and I'm now in Nashville, where I was teaching 4th graders for awhile.
I've taught, everywhere I went. I only recalled that I dreamt of being a teacher when I went through some things my mom kept of my childhood; She kept an image I drew of myself that depicted me teaching in a classroom. It showed me that I felt, at that moment in my life, I had an important voice and wanted to share things with others. Thankfully, I feel that now too. Life took me where it wanted me, exactly where I wanted but forgotten myself, to becoming a teacher.
I believe education is a human right.
I can align, lead, and grow your minds with joy and fun underscoring the work that I do.
I'm a teacher, lover of learning, and someone who has always wanted to help people in their time of need.
