I am a graduate of Dillard University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I also hold a Master's degree in Humanities and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing, and recently completed my Ph.D. in Education at Northcentral University, focusing on curriculum and teaching. I have ten years of experience teaching English Language Arts in high school, specializing in teaching critical reading skills, strategies, and essay writing, including expository, persuasive, and literary analysis essays. I am passionate about encouraging students to explore their thoughts and feelings about the texts they read, participate in discussions, and effectively communicate their ideas. I have successfully helped students prepare for the STAAR English EOC 1 and 2 exams and achieve passing scores. I firmly believe that all students can learn and that education is the key to improving the world. My goal is to instill a love of lifelong learning in all my students. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, listening to music, bowling, and walking in nature.
