Certified Tutor

I started teaching Art in 2005 after a long career in Art related fields. I fell in love with Art at the age of 9 after winning my first awards at a local Art Festival. When I was younger, we did not have art in Elementary schools so my parents enrolled me in private art classes until I started High School. In High School, I studied Architectural Drafting and received my drafting certification. I went on to work as a draftsperson for a few architects, back then all house plans were hand drawn, Auto Cad was not mainstream yet, I still have copies of all my drawings. I went on to work as a Graphic Designer and Scenic Designer for Busch Gardens Tampa, and a Scenic Designer for an Event Company, Art of the Party, in Orlando. In 2005, after finishing my Art degree at the University of Tampa, I decided I wanted to share my passion for art with students. I recently retired from teaching Art with Hillsborough County Schools. I also teach with the Tampa Museum of Art and I have taught all ages and love sharing my passion and knowledge.
Although most of my experience has been teaching Art, I also have experience teaching other subjects. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007, after completing my Art degree. My thesis was written based on my belief and research that students can learn and apply knowledge from other subjects in Art and vice Versa.
