Ever since I was in 3rd grade, I have dreamed of becoming an educator. As I set out on my journey to achieve my goals, the opportunity to tutor crossed my path. I took a job as a district English tutor for a local community college and fell in-love with tutoring and the students. I've learned over the course of the past two years that you do not need a teaching certificate to make a difference as an educator. I am still pursuing that goal but as I do, I want to make a difference while doing so. Students inspire me to accomplish my dreams as I assist in helping them accomplish theirs.
I graduated in May 2021 with my AAS in Education and my AA degrees at 19 years old. I took roughly a years worth of dual-credit classes in high school. I am currently at the University of the Cumberlands as a BSE major with English being my content area. I plan to be done with all my classes by 2023 and obtain my teaching degree.
As mentioned, I spent the past two years tutoring at a local community college. I tutored students straight out of high school and I tutored students who were 40-60 years old who were returning back to school. I love all different types of students and I cannot wait to help each student I come across. Goals are meant to be completed, and I want to work with you to make them happen.
I am an English tutor. I have the capabilities to tutor in literary studies as well as writing. My personal favorite area to tutor in is essay writing. However, I just enjoy helping students with whatever content they need assistance with.
My teaching philosophy consists of meeting students where they are and helping them gain the confidence they need to achieve their goals. If a student thinks they can do it, they will do it. As an education major, I understand the importance of differentiated learning. No single student is the same. We all have a unique learning style and it is important to match that learning style with the correct teaching strategy. I will go to whatever extent I can for a student to learn the material.
I cannot wait to meet you, and I am excited to see you accomplish your goals!

Outside of academia, I love anything relating to Jeeps. Some people call us a "cult" as a joke, while others who have a Jeep understand the camaraderie. I love going to Jeep shows, Jeep rides, and Jeep part stores, haha. I also enjoy cooking and spoiling my puppy, Penelope.
