My name is Courtney and I have been teaching for almost 25 years! I absolutely LOVE to teach. I spent the first 18 years of my career as a music teacher and private voice, piano, cello and violin teacher. I moved to North Carolina in 2014 and decided to try something new. I became a Special Ed teacher and a math teacher. I was shocked to find out how much I actually enjoy math!! Last year I went back to teaching music. I homeschool my daughter and plan fun and exciting lessons for her daily. I have tutored students struggling with math and pride myself on helping them to find new ways to look at concepts, giving them the ability to understand and succeed. I look forward to working with new students through Varsity Tutors.

Hobbies

My favorite thing in the world is to be outside, hiking up the Appalachian Mountains. Nothing makes me feel more centered and peaceful than being out in the woods and conquering a difficult trail with my wife. I also love to cook and listen to all sorts of music!! And dance. I love to dance but do not do that often enough.
