Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Although I have the expertise to teach most STEM courses, my favorite subjects to tutor students in are reading and English. Over the past four years, I helped middle schoolers hone their literacy skills within the Atlanta Public School system. In addition, I was a teacher's assistant to provide more opportunity for one-on-one learning. Even during COVID, I was able to use the BookNook platform to tutor young children remotely, and the lessons I learned from my tutees are as valuable to me as the subjects they mastered. I believe that the relationships between tutors and students are two-way streets, and the most successful tutors are open to learning as much from their students as they are willing to teach.
