Certified Tutor
I am an active STEM mentor to middle, high school, and college students. I am particularly passionate about providing mentorship to young women and girls to improve their confidence in science and math. I am an experienced TA at Columbia University, and I have volunteered in middle school special education classrooms for the past 5 years.
I have a Master's degree from Columbia University in Environmental Science, and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Physics. from Gonzaga University. While at Gonzaga, I TA'd for an introductory physics lab and volunteered at the local Girl Scouts science days.
I am happy to tutor in English including writing and speaking, as well as in algebra, geometry, and calculus 1,2,3. I also have teaching expertise in physics and chemistry as well as environmental science. Additionally, I can help tutor in engineering coursework.
I believe teaching is best approached with kindness and empathy, as well as meeting the students where they're at in a place of mutual respect.
