I received my English degree at the University of Illinois at Springfield and returned to school to obtain my second bachelor's in science in the field of special education. I have taught at a highly performing high school in Illinois in the general education and small setting in the area of English for the past eleven years. My primary expertise is reading fluency, comprehension, and formal writing. I really enjoy the editing process and helping students learn to create sophisticated sentences and elevate their writing tool box. I also enjoy breaking the formal writing process down. My primary audience are discouraged, unconfident, or overwhelmed learners. My goal is to make the process palatable and to build each student's personal and academic confidence.
