I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. I will be double majoring in Molecular Biology and Anthropology and minoring in Applied Statistics. Over my high school career, I've spent a great deal of time tutoring/mentoring others as the president of my school's HOSA club. Here, I taught younger members subjects like medical math, biomedical science, pathophysiology, and more. However, my experience as a tutor extends beyond this; since middle school, I've been teaching elementary and middle school math and science at my local library. As a tutor, I'm passionate about math and science: this includes subjects from elementary math/science to AP courses like AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, and AP Environmental Science. I've also scored very well on standardized exams (35 on the ACT, National Merit Finalist recognition for the PSAT), so I can also extend my services for students who need to prepare for such exams. Education is a right that all students should have. As a volunteer, I've upheld this message by providing funding and supplies for tribal schools in developing nations. Because of this passion for education, I can ensure that I will work vigorously to achieve my students' academic goals and needs.
