Hello! My name is Holiday Harris. I have two Bachelor's degrees from Western Michigan University: Organizational Communication/Minor Psychology and Secondary English/Theater.

I have been a full time teacher in Texas for eight years. I have taught students with a variety of learning styles; including students with visual impairment, Autism,Cerebral palsy, ESL students and students with specific learning disabilities.
I understand the importance of making learning engaging and effective. I specialize in working with students with learning differences, specifically in Reading and Writing. I have taught summer school reading and writing (STAAR testing 6-12 grade).

Good writers and readers must develop higher level thinking strategies. Asking questions allow students an active role in their learning that leads to a feeling of pride and ownership. I tailor my teaching to individual and group strength and interests.

My basic belief is that students learn best in a supportive and fun environment. Students thrive on positivity! Praise is my favorite classroom tool.
