I believe in tutoring because we are all capable of learning something new about the world in any discipline. I come to Varsity Tutors after two years of tutoring experience at the Center for Student Success at my university and teaching an introductory economics course for a homeschool co-op. In a few months, I will be graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. in Economics from Indiana Wesleyan University, and I intend to begin a Master's in Public Policy within a few years. I tutor most economics courses and specialize in "the economic way of thinking," but my second major in humanities and minor in political science allow me to help students in government, philosophy, and writing as well.
To me, tutoring is guidance, but I am prepared to instruct if need be. My job is not complete until a student realizes the potential within themselves to not only succeed on tests but also understands the way to think about the subject. I can give a student a fish, but they are better off being taught how to fish.
Outside of my academic life, I am a freelance public policy writer with over thirty articles published online. I participate on three student government committees, produce electronic music, and have played tennis for thirteen years.
