Certified Tutor

I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I also graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters in Business Administration. I started tutoring as a high school student when my honors Spanish teacher suggested I tutor a beginning Spanish student. From that point forward I realized how much I enjoyed tutoring and helping others. This experience opened the doors for me to start tutoring in other areas. As I developed in my own professional career I found myself in jobs where my job duties included education and coaching to others. My teaching philosophy and style is to first determine what the student needs and how they learn best. From there I adapt my teaching style to meet their needs, whether they are a visual learner, someone who learns by application, etc. I feel it's my job to teach according to what works for them. I find tutoring rewarding when I have the opportunity to see a student succeed by improving their work or obtaining a better grade in a certain subject area. It makes me feel I've made a difference when a student is proud of themselves for the improvements they have made. I enjoy tutoring Spanish, English, Writing Skills, various science classes and nursing classes. In my freetime I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and dogs, reading, relaxing at the beach and photography.
