I believe all students can achieve their full potential when provided with the appropriate modifications, scaffolds or resources necessary. My job as a teacher is to help all students feel successful. I hope that as a teacher I can encourage respect for learning and intellectual achievement by stimulating individual curiosity about the world. I have been a classroom teacher for 5 years and I believe that tutoring will be a great opportunity for me to create more personal relationships in order to help students reach their potential by teaching to the student's strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. As a classroom teacher of 25 or more students you don't always get the opportunity to work with students on a one to one basis. I have taught students in 1st to 12th grade and at the college level. I am knowledgeable of strategies that work well for struggling readers and English Language Learners. I am very organized and more than willing to put in the time and effort to help every student succeed.
