I am deeply passionate about helping students unlock their academic potential and gain confidence in their learning. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching a student move from confusion to clarity, especially when they begin to realize they are capable of more than they initially believed. Tutoring allows me to be part of that transformative process, helping students overcome challenges and build skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
I have several years of experience working with students across a variety of age groups and academic levels. From leading peer tutoring sessions in college to working one-on-one with high school students in subjects like biology, chemistry, algebra, and English, I've developed a flexible approach tailored to individual learning styles. Whether helping a student grasp cellular respiration or guiding them through a persuasive essay, I focus on creating a supportive environment that encourages questions, curiosity, and growth.
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences, with a strong foundation in the sciences, mathematics, and writing. My academic background and diverse coursework allow me to tutor a wide range of subjects, including biology, chemistry, math (up to precalculus), and English composition. Of all the subjects I tutor, biology is my favorite; its relevance to everyday life and the fascinating intricacies of living systems never cease to inspire me, and I enjoy making those connections clear and exciting for students.
My tutoring philosophy centers on patience, empathy, and building a strong conceptual foundation. I believe that learning should be an active and engaging process, and I strive to adapt my style to meet each student's unique needs. I often use analogies, visual aids, and real-world examples to bring difficult topics to life. My goal is not just to help students succeed on a particular assignment or exam, but to equip them with the tools to become independent, confident learners.
Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, and exploring topics related to healthcare and data science. These interests often inform my tutoring, as I love weaving real-world applications into the subjects I teach.
