Helping students succeed has always been more than just a job for me; it's a calling. There's nothing quite like the magic of that "gotcha" moment, when a concept finally clicks for a student. Seeing their confidence grow as they begin to believe in themselves is incredibly rewarding and reminds me daily why I chose this path.

My experience in education spans over a decade and has given me a deep understanding of the diverse needs of learners. I began my career teaching Special Education Resource for six years, where I provided small-group, skills-based instruction tailored to each student's learning style. During that time, I was also trained to teach the MTA Dyslexia program, which strengthened my approach to early literacy. I went on to serve as an Instructional Math Coach for two years, supporting fellow educators with curriculum and strategies to drive student success. Most recently, I've worked as a Behavioral Teacher, giving me further insight into the importance of social-emotional support in learning.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University, along with certifications in Special Education (EC12) and Core Subjects (EC6). I currently tutor Reading and Math for Pre-K through 5th grade students, with a special passion for Beginning Reading Skills and Math. These foundational subjects are where confidence begins and where the right support can change a child's entire academic journey.

My teaching philosophy is student-centered. I truly believe that every child learns differently, and it's our job as educators to find what works for them. Whether it's using visual supports, hands-on activities, or simply building trust, I strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, capable, and supported.

Outside of education, I find joy in life by the water. I live on a barrier island near Corpus Christi, Texas, where I enjoy beach walks and watching my two children play sports. I also love exploring the outdoors, hiking in National Parks, and traveling whenever I can.

At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief in the power of education, just like my mother always said, it's something no one can ever take away from you.
