Certified Tutor
I earned my bachelor's in biochemistry from Georgia Tech, and will be starting my PhD. In chemistry the fall.
In college, I focused on synthetic organic chemistry in my research and elective coursework. Throughout my time in my courses, academic labs, and internships, I've been inspired by great educators. I know just how big of a difference a good tutor, mentor, teacher, or professor can make. The skills I held in the highest regard were the ability to listen to students, understand where they needed help, and patiently work with them to fill the gap while challenging them to apply that knowledge to gain a deep understanding of the topic. These are the qualities that I strive to provide as a tutor.
I discovered my passion for teaching in high school as a teaching assistant for Honors Chemistry, where I worked with students one-on-one and in small groups, addressing their questions and clarifying complex concepts in an accessible manner. In college, I served as a Prototyping Instructor at Georgia Tech's Invention Studio, teaching students and staff how to safely and effectively operate various manufacturing tools and apply those skills to the manufacture of prototypes. I also frequently provided informal help to underclassmen in the tuba section I co-led with their chemistry courses.
Whether you're just starting chemistry in high school, are preparing for your advanced organic chemistry final in college, or just want to learn more about how the chemical world around you works, I'd love to help! Feel free to reach out to me and let me know what your goals are, and we can get started making a plan that is just right for you!
