I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of McMaster University's Health Sciences program and currently a medical student at the University of Toronto. Having experienced firsthand the power of strong mentorship throughout my academic journey, I am passionate about guiding students to uncover their untapped potential. I focus on creating supportive environments where students feel comfortable tackling challenges, building confidence, and pushing their limits to achieve their goals.

I have extensive experience working with students across different ages and disciplines. As a Teaching Assistant for the Anatomy and Physiology course at McMaster University, I developed skills in breaking down complex concepts into manageable, approachable pieces. I have tutored elementary and middle school students in English, French, and Math, and I've mentored students through various programs, including those designed to support BIPOC students interested in medicine and neurodiverse students on the spectrum. These experiences have taught me the importance of tailoring my approach to meet each student's unique learning style.

I tutor a variety of subjects, including (but not limited to) English, French, Math, and Biology, but my favorite subject to tutor is Biologyparticularly human biology. I am captivated by its ability to reveal the intricate systems of the human body in ways that are both comprehensible and fascinating. My teaching philosophy is rooted in problem-solving and mentorship. I focus on helping students work through challenges step by step, encouraging them to ask deeper questions, explore complex concepts, and think beyond their baseline knowledge. I believe that learning happens best when students feel supported, engaged, and comfortable, and I aim to create an environment that fosters growth and curiosity.
