I am a fellow of Advance Higher Education, U.K. The process of attaining the fellowship of HEA, U.K. taught me essential values and principles of teaching and I implement them in my everyday teaching lessons. I design active classrooms where students engage in each other's and their learning, as well as in the growth of their personality and employability. As the Programme Coordinator (Head) of the Masters of Computer Application department (level 7) and curriculum designer for the level 7 courses, I designed and outlined specific employability attributes and course learning outcomes for each module, which benefitted both teachers and students. Furthermore, I always seek to enhance my teaching abilities and practices by learning from my mistakes. I promote racial and gender equality in my classroom, simultaneously encouraging positive interactions between students of diverse cultures. I prioritise maintaining equality among students of different casts, creeds, and cultures. I consider myself a co-learner rather than an educator, providing a democratic environment for students to interact openly and learn with me. I ensure that my teaching is always two-way communication. I constantly emphasize the importance of learning outcomes (LO) to students because it is directly related to their knowledge acquisition process and employability. I am always prepared to modify my teaching method to meet the requirements of individual students. It is always important to provide students complete freedom to choose their topic of interest, their group members and to learn about the pros and cons of the topic they choose to develop their decision-making abilities. To ensure this, I encourage students to come up with innovative group ideas and form groups with diversity. A group of mixed genders and cultures is always encouraged to promote equality and cultural exchange among students in my class. My teaching method is based on providing timely assessment and feedback that emphasises student autonomy while engaging with students' cultures, backgrounds, social diversity, strengths, and weaknesses. I follow five basic rules while providing the feedback: 1) ensure that written feedback is provided to students in plain and understandable English; 2) include constructive comments in the feedback to boost the learner's confidence; 3) ensure that my feedback demonstrates that I have fully read, understood, and accessed the work; 4) providing a fair grading scale that uses a wide range of grades to reflect a student's actual performance; and 5) making myself available for individualized sessions and extra classes to ensure that all students, including those with family responsibilities, have time and opportunity to follow-up on the feedback. I routinely give assignments to my students and devote 20 minutes in each of my sessions to provide feedback to the students on personal basis. Adhering to the UKPSF framework for developing a flexible learning environment and globalising higher education, I always encourage 'student' to be a 'teacher' in my class, with myself acting as a facilitator. However, some students are hesitant to volunteer in an individual learning environment due to low comfort levels and lack of experience. As a result, I use a hybrid method in my class that includes short-term, self-motivated group activities with deadlines and individual responsibilities to teach their classmates. Dealing with students' differences in personality and background is a significant challenge in the classroom. My classes often include students from various religions and beliefs. My students and I work together to achieve high learning standards and look for ways to enhance our educational practices. Each student's learning plan is customised to account for the student's unique challenges and opportunities in the classroom. I am dedicated to enhancing my learning in education research and expanding my understanding of new methods for delivering high-quality teaching. Collaborative interactions with colleagues significantly contribute to my professional growth. I also gain knowledge from students through casual conversations and queries for feedback on current module designs. As part of my commitment to continuous professional development, on 21st November 2022, I presented a guest lecture on "Cutting Edge Cyber Security Defences" for students at Stanmore College, London, U.K. I presented the talk by combining teaching pedagogy with research. Stanmore College published my lecture in their official newspaper and gave me a certificate of appreciation for delivering a quality lecture. The most useful learning I had from the guest lecture and meeting with faculty members was the need to "highlight" feedback while teaching. I am well equipped to assist students in meeting their academic goals. Because I have extensive experience as a teacher, I can successfully use a variety of resources to instruct and teach my students.
