Certified Tutor

Hello! My name is Aaliyah Raja and I am currently in my final year of university studying Economics and Mathematics at the University of Leeds. I completed my A-Levels in Mathematics, English Literature, and Psychology in 2020. I began tutoring in 2020, and have taught children aged 5-17, focusing mainly on English (Literature and Language) and Mathematics. My favourite subject to tutor is Mathematics as I enjoy the way logic is used to solve and tackle everyday issues. I particularly love the satisfaction when students begin to understand mathematical concepts they previously thought were difficult.
I have tutored children with barely a grasp of the English Alphabet, as well as students working towards their GCSEs and A-Levels.

Having a real impact on the lives of students is something I am dedicated towards having and I believe that tutoring does exactly that. Facilitating their academic progression and ultimately opening the doors of their future is highly impactful and a very rewarding task I am keen to take on.
When it comes to teaching, I believe targeting students' learning styles is paramount. I engage them in varied tasks to find the style which is most suitable for them, whilst ensuring that understanding is being maintained.

Outside of academia, I particularly enjoy reading, hiking, journaling, calligraphy, and exploring other cultures.
