Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Berry College, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting, as well as my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I am a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Information Systems Auditor (non-practicing).

I have a diverse professional background, working as an auditor, accountant, and tax preparer at two different Certified Public Accounting firms; and an information technology auditor and ethics and compliance manager at a large, well-known international beverage and bottling company.

My teaching and tutoring experience is vast. As a college student, I tutored several students in pre-algebra and algebra. I also taught various styles of dance and tumbling to students from age two through eighteen, both in private and group classes. As a professional, I trained small to large groups on such topics as IT, operational, and process audits, audit work papers, fraud risk management, ethics and compliance hotlines, code of business conduct, and how to plan, organize. lead, write a report for, and wrap-up audits.

As a parent, I tutored my own child in high school essay writing, personal finance, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, and accounting fundamentals. She did very well and is now in college pursuing her own goals and dreams.

Regardless of what I tutor or teach, I love to see my students and class participants learn and understand a topic. My role as a tutor is to facilitate learning and encourage confidence, while creating a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental virtual space to learn. Students should feel comfortable asking questions, and to keep asking questions until they understand.

I believe learning is a lifelong process, and it should be fun and interesting whenever possible!
