I have always been drawn to education; originally for myself then others such as students, peers, patients, those I supervise and especially my children.
I am a retired United States Navy pharmacist, Master Training Specialist and military intelligence analyst. I served as the head of the US Navy's Pharmacy Technician Training Program, taught pharm tech training at University of Connecticut and Tarrant County (Texas) Community College. My specialties are pharmacology, physiology/pathophysiology, pharmaceutical math and business processes. Additionally, I was a member (two sessions) of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam board.
I have Masters degrees in both Health-Systems Management and Military History. I have a strong background in business process improvement, business writing and SOP development. I am trained in both LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies and worked in the pharmaceutical and healthcare management areans.
While having been published in several professional journals and co-writing The History of Pharmacy in the United States Navy, I am also the author of a children's travel/adventure series, Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom.
I am a history and trivia buff and my goal is to help broaden student's horizons, instill a desire to learn even more, and for all of us to become good citizens of our planet.

One of my true passions is watching science and history-based shows and reading to hone up on what my wife coined as ‘Ed’s Useless Trivia’. ‘How do you know so much about everything!’ is a common saying in our home. If I do not know the answer, we ‘look it up’. I am very physically active; playing golf, tennis, softball, swimming, scuba diving, cycling, and pickleball. I enjoy reading science fiction, as well as historical biographies and historical novels.
