Certified Tutor

I've always had a love for teaching, and I remember as a child playing 'school' in my room with my dolls being my first students. There was always a learning environment at home, because my father is a Maths teacher, and he tutors at home. He is a huge influence for me, and I always knew I wanted to be a great teacher like him. As a result, when I started tutoring Maths to students that have failed their exams, I realised that becoming a passionate teacher is what I really want. The satisfaction I get every time I help people fill their lack of knowledge and watch them succeed is indescribable.
I come from the beautiful island of Corfu, Greece, but I've been living and working in the UK for the last four years. In terms of my educational background, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from the University of Patras, in Greece, a Masters of Science in Environmental Geology and Contamination from the University of Portsmouth, in England, and my PGCE Secondary Geography from The University of Portsmouth in England. .
Currently, I'm in my final year of my ECT programme, teaching Geography at Bay House School in Gosport, UK. Most of my teaching experience is from this school, since I did both years of my ECT programme and my second placement of my training year at Bay House Secondary and Sixth Form School. Furthermore, I have teaching experience outside the UK. During my internship in Greece, I was teaching Geology, Geography and Biology at a Greek High School called High School of Kassiopis. Also, I was tutoring Maths to students that have failed their exams and needed to repeat them. Lastly, I was teaching the Greek language to a 7 year old girl from Russia, who didn't know how to speak English or Greek. For this reason, I had to teach myself some Russian to be able to communicate with her. I also speak Greek, English, and German. This experience has made me adaptable and flexible to varying student needs.
