I absolutely love science! I find it so fascinating and I love to talk to others and teach others about it. I love learning about biology at the fundamental level, which is why I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. From there, I decided to continue my education because I wanted to learn more and expand my skillset, so I went to graduate school and received my Masters of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
I have worked in academia and industry for the past 6 years and I have really enjoyed it. Specifically, I have worked in two research labs at two universities, and I have worked in the research and development department for two industry-leading companies.
One thing that I really love is sharing how fascinating science can be. I am a firm believer that people learn best when they come to conclusions themselves. So when I teach, I work to help those I teach come to conclusions so that they retain the principles for a very long time. The most rewarding part of when I teach is when the person I'm working with has the "light bulb" moment. They understand a principle and can apply it. That's why I do what I do! Here on Varsity Tutors, I tutor the sciences. Namely biology, chemistry, and cell biology. However, I also teach Microsoft Excel. It is a very valuable tool that everyone can use to their advantage. Not just with work, but in their everyday life. I have personally used Excel in both academia and industry, and I have found some really cool ways to solve problems and even create templates for continual use.
When I am not working, I like to be outside. I love to rock climb, hike/backpack, fish, and road bike. When I am not outside I love to design and build things as well as play my Playstation.
I'm so excited to be here! I look forward to working with you.
