Certified Tutor

I first began tutoring in high school, as a means of reinforcing my own learning while helping my classmates. I found it extremely rewarding to work with others and see them improve. It's a great feeling to help someone conquer a new topic and grow their confidence. I love helping people to discover new interests and see their work in a new, exciting way. I've tutored in a wide variety of subjects, but I'm most enthusiastic about science and the arts.

I am a graduate of Duke University. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Marine Science and Conservation, as well as a certificate in the Arts of the Moving Image. As mentioned, I'm very interested in science and the arts. I believe that intellectual curiosity and creativity go hand-in-hand, and that students are most engaged when these interdisciplinary connections are made. By approaching teaching in this way, I hope to empower students to recognize the opportunities for them to explore their interests in the real world.
