I am a 4th-year chemical engineering student from the University of Calgary. I am currently working full-time as a process engineering intern at NOVA Chemicals.
I am passionate about helping students because I saw enormous value in investing in the next generation. Society will become a much better place through education.
My mom was an elementary teacher for 35 years, and I always admired her hard work and dedication toward teaching students. I try to adopt the same work ethic when tutoring a student.
I am an experienced tutor with more than two years of tutoring background. All my students enjoyed my tutoring style as I have kept it professional and interactive. Not only am I interested in helping students to solve problems, but also interested in students themselves. I am interested in students' hobbies, the career path they want to choose, and their personal goals.
While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Mathematics (up to Calculus) and Chemistry. I teach these courses as I use them a lot in my daily life as a Chemical Engineering Intern. It is essential to have a strong background in Math and Chemistry to study engineering and work as an engineer.
When tutoring, instead of providing students with a direct answer, I help them reach solutions themselves. First, I help students understand the problem and identify what it is they have to solve. Then, I help them build a strategy to tackle the problem. My goal is to help students become independent learners. It will allow them to solve similar problems without receiving any help.
In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting and performing calisthenics. I enjoy hiking and traveling to Banff.
