Certified Tutor

I recieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Studies with a concentration in Original Works from Cornish College of the Arts in 2018. Prior to this I transferred from the University of California, Davis where I studied political science and Chicana/o Studies. I have worked with students as a theatre educator since 2013, when I tutored with the Youth Policy Institute at Woodrow Wilson Highschool in Los Angeles. Soon after that I led a team of professional theatre artists as Head Camp Counselor in the Camp Shakespeare Sessions of the Davis Shakespeare Festivals from 2014 to 2016. I taught young students the literacy, plot and character study, and performance of Shakespearean plays. I'm passionate about storytelling, advocacy through the arts, and dramaturgical and literary studies. I believe that authentic learning engages not only the mind, but also the heart and intuition. My experience as an actor, producer, playwright and theatre artist equips me with a range of group project management skills. As your tutor, I'll be your collaborator in helping answer questions as well as in asking the right questions to make our subject interesting and to cover every curriculum requirement. In my free time I love practicing my hand at my family's delicious recipes for menudo, tinga tostadas, papas con chile y ms.
