In March of 2018, I earned my bachelor's degree from Capella University in Public Safety with a specialization in Emergency Management. In February 2020, I earned my master's degree from Trident University in Homeland Security, Disaster Management.
I have experience coordinating and organizing emergency management plans, implement training procedures, and provide direction to volunteers to help keep operations running smoothly during emergencies. I also have the knowledge to create budget proposals and help prepare and distribute disaster material that will help educate the community so that the residents can be ready in case of a disaster.
I have strong communication skills to relay information clearly and concisely when giving speeches and presentations to increase awareness. In addition, I have the experience to identify hazards, monitor emergencies to look for changes, and the ability to write detailed incident reports.
I can remain calm and focused during emergencies, respond quickly, and have a record for making sound decisions. I also stay abreast of all the state and federal regulations associated with emergency operations plans, National Response Framework, NIMS, and keep all materials and procedures updated to meet these guidelines.
I am a Pennsylvania and South Carolina State Certified Paramedic Instructor. I began my public safety career in June 2001 as a Junior Firefighter. I have since gained experience in Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Industry Health and Safety, and Emergency Management. I am a current member of McKean Lodge #388 FA&M, Smethport Fire Department, and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
