Certified Tutor

I am a recent graduate of Spring Hill College with a degree in Organismal/Marine Biology. During college, I was a multidisciplinary tutor for students ranging from K-12 as well as an SAT/ACT Prep guide. I have been passionate about the sciences since a trip I took to Hawaii for a marine biology seminar back in high school. My passion has translated into a drive to teach and aid others in learning about and strengthening their knowledge in the subject I love so dearly. Marine Biology, General Biology (high school and graduate level), AP Environmental Science, Earth Science, and Ecology are my specialties. My teaching philosophy hinges on the fact that I have been on the other side of the tutoring experience and I understand the frustration that a student can sometimes feel and I can relate to the satisfaction that is felt by a successful tutoring session. I know that a student's learning style is of the utmost importance when trying to understand a lesson and so I strive to provide various approaches, explanations, and examples that meet a student's needs. While not tutoring, I enjoy reading, film/tv analyses, and listening to musical theater soundtracks.
