I earned my graduate degrees from the University of Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Art History, Theory, Criticism. While my studies centered on film, history, race, and gender, I am a firm believer in and an advocate for the humanities as a whole. I have two years of experience teaching undergraduate students writing, art history, world history, and design. I am also teaching several undergraduate writing classes in the fall and expanding my teaching practice through summer training. I have worked in higher education for approximately six years and adored the parts of my job that allowed me to appropriately counsel and work with students one on one. I am passionate about empowering my students to achieve their academic goals! My work is published in several academic journals and various print and digital arts publications. I have five years of editing and proofreading experience and find a great deal of satisfaction in supporting my students as writers, thinkers, and communicators. Though I enjoy working with students in all subjects, I love teaching all forms of writing, literature, history, English, and art. I have found that these passions smoothly translate to their corresponding sections on standardized tests (specifically the ACT and GRE). Growing up with parents as teachers I learned early on the importance of the work that takes place both in and out of a classroom that ensures student success. I'm a staunch proponent of the transformative power of education and in my spare time I enjoy baking, yoga, and volunteering.
