Certified Tutor

I am a retired Navy veteran and Elementary and Special Education teacher candidate at Western Governors University with more than 10 years of experience in adult and primary education. I strongly believe that every kid has the right to quality education regardless of their race, religion, socioeconomic status, gender, or gender identity.

While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about K-5 core subjects (English, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies), and Study Skills development for students at all grade levels. As a Special Education teacher, I understand how to tailor lessons to meet the needs of students based on their personal learning styles and strengths. I believe it is important to include Executive Functioning Skills development into every tutoring session. Executive Functioning Skills are the basis for planning, organizing, initiating, and following through will all tasks, and assignments inside and outside of school. Strong Executive Functioning Skills will benefit students throughout their school-years, and will continue to do so in life after school.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and indoor gardening.
