Certified Tutor

As a professional scholar and author (they/them/he; gender-nonconforming), I bring hands-on expertise in investigative journalism, academic research, and creative writing. I'll take writing jobs ranging from English to various kinds of writing classes. I'd be very helpful to students who are in the social sciences/humanities who have essay/writing assignments. I worked as a writing and social sciences tutor at the University of Arizona's SALT (Strategic Alternative Learning Technologies) Center serving primarily students with learning disabilities. As far as my career goes (see my resume for more details), a tour of my recent writings demonstrates my adept ability to command research and narration across genre lines, from analyzing the convergence of U.S. foreign policy and immigration in Guatemala, published in Yes! Magazine this past June 2019; to short fiction exploring a national security intrigue, published in Thriller Magazine in July; to lyrical nonfiction/memoir in two Middle East border zones, published in Electric Literature in August 2019; to forthcoming work accepted for publication by Foreign Policy and The Progressive magazines. I am currently a resident fellow/visiting scholar of the Agnese Nelms Haury Program and History Department at the University of Arizona. I am also currently completing investigative journalism projects sponsored by the esteemed Joseph Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and the Economic Hardship Reporting Project.
